Mags, Fash Rags, Glossies

Chalk it up to wayward Google searches, but for some reason a lot of folks who live in the United States end up at this website and send me emails about where to grab slightly more off-the-map issues of Vogue (various European issues, Vogue Bambini, etc.)

I am going to do a major free plug up in here, but if you've been reading this website from its inception back in the dark ages, you'll know that in my humble little opinion, the best magazine store I've ever been in is:

Rich's Cigar Store for the absolute penultimate wiiiiiiin!!!

Rich's is in PORTLAND, Oregon, USA, people. If you don't live there, no need to hit the panic button, just dust off that rotary phone and give them a jingle. They'll probably be able to ship something to you.

Seeing as I don't live in Portland anymore, my new favorite storefront that has a great fash mag selection would be Juicy News (no affiliation with Juicy Couture, thank the lord). Juicy News is in San Francisco, California, and just so you know, bring cash - you have to buy about $15 worth of stuff before they let you whip out the plastic.

Seriously, though. Juicy News is pretty cool. See? The Bay Area isn't so bad - we're more than just overpriced real estate and whistle tips. Woo-wooo!

Alright, so that takes care of two major cities. But what about everyone else? Where are YOUR favorite places to buy a magazine that you don't subscribe to?

Tell me about it in the comments below.

There's this magazine store in Chelsea in Manhattan. They have EVERY magazine ever made! The prices are a little belly aching, but if you want a quick fix of the latest... Whole Living (made up mag name) mag without subscribing, their fabulous.

Rich's OWNS! I practically live in there, and I still can't believe we never ran into each other when you lived in P-Town.

Definitely the giant newstand at Pike Place Market. You haveta elbow your way past the tourists, but it's gigantic.

i love juicy news, they have everything and it's right up the street ;-)

i'm also a big fan of smoke signals on polk street. they have alot more obscure choices that juicy doesn't. plus they have alot of mags my boy likes, so it's easier to drag him there on a saturday after brunch.
